The decision to pursue this commitment was made more than 10 years ago in support of “early childhood education,” an issue of paramount importance to society as a whole.
In addition to ad hoc donations to various institutions focused on this area, our long-term efforts center on supporting a program for young children. We are particularly impressed by the program, organization, and management of the Little House of Hope Foundation in Swakopmund, Namibia.
The goal and purpose of this organization is to help children from extremely difficult life circumstances—an environment marked by extreme poverty and a lack of educational opportunities—take their first steps out of poverty through a two-year kindergarten and preschool program, along with ongoing support during their early school years.

Instead of gifts, donations were collected on the occasion of the iki’s 40th anniversary for the “Startklar” project, which supports the home care of premature infants after their discharge from the hospital.
