Confidence in your product's performance
Normec supports cosmetic brands, manufacturers and ingredient suppliers with independent testing of cosmetic ingredients and formulations. Through analytical testing, application studies and safety assessments, we evaluate the performance of both individual ingredients and finished products.
This provides you with reliable data to support product development, substantiate product claims and comply with applicable regulations.
Three main reasons for the necessity of analysing cosmetic products
- Accordance with the European Cosmetic Regulation in respect of the statutory thresholds of the allowed substances in finished products
- Correctness of the advertising statements

- Stability test (temperature/time) / stress test
- GC-MS
Long Term Stability Testing
Our standard method for a stability test is a sensory examination of the samples at the beginning and then after storage for one month (T1), two months (T2), and three months (T3) at 4 °C, 20 °C, and 40 °C. Upon customer request, storage times and temperatures can be adjusted and the stability of selected ingredients can be determined.
Toxicological Tests
Red Blood Cell Test (RBC Test) (INVITTOX no. 37)
Because of the animal protection regulations from the year 2013, animal experiments are permanently banned in the European Union for testing cosmetic ingredients and finished products. To ensure the safety of new finished products and for selection of raw materials the in vitro test method described below is used routinely to determine the irritation potential.
Support with regulatory compliance
Regulations governing cosmetic products continue to evolve. Ingredients are regularly reassessed, safety requirements change and product claims are subject to increasing scrutiny.
Normec helps organisations remain compliant by combining analytical testing, safety assessments and expert regulatory advice. This ensures you have the documentation and scientific evidence needed for a safe and compliant product launch.
