Normec also supports the optimisation of existing formulations and product lines. We help replace critical or discontinued ingredients, improve product performance and adapt formulations to changing regulations. This helps keep your products competitive and future-proof.
Safety assessment / safety report
We offer the preparation of safety assessments, taking into account the latest regulatory requirements. Benefit from our more than 50 years of experience and our activities in the fields of research, consulting, testing and analysis. For many years, we have been preparing safety assessments for all common cosmetics: from shampoo to foot cream. Our safety assessor is a PhD chemist with many years of experience in the field of cosmetics. The following contents were part of the extensive additional training:
- Exposure of cosmetic products / Percutaneous penetration.
- Local tolerance, immunology and sensitization
- Metabolism, kinetics and structure-activity relationships
- Carcinogenesis and mutagenesis
- General and systemic toxicology including risk assessment
- Reproductive toxicology
- Microbiological product safety of cosmetic products
In order to prepare a safety assessment, we require numerous documents. If not all toxicological data are available, we can complete the documentation in individual cases by means of database research. If product series with similar formulations are involved, inexpensive package solutions can also be offered. For this purpose, a preliminary examination of the formulations may have to be carried out.

Natural cosmetic product lines are created according to the latest guidelines – also in conformance with natural cosmetic quality labels if so desired.
In addition to the elaboration of products, we also carry out revisions and updates of existing products and series to meet changed legal requirements or changing consumer behavior.
For cosmetic products, we offer the preparation of a safety assessment in accordance with current legal requirements.
