What did you do before this?
I first completed an apprenticeship as an industrial clerk and then worked as a team assistant in the insurance sector. Before joining Normec Hybeta, I had already gained seven years of professional experience.
What do you appreciate about Normec Hybeta?
What I especially like is the work environment and the fantastic team (you can even offer constructive criticism here without anyone taking offense). The way we interact, the friendliness, and the willingness to help one another are truly great. Thanks to the people here, I’ve grown personally because we benefit from each other’s knowledge and learn from one another. We grow together, and on top of that, we have opportunities to take advantage of continuing education and professional development.
Especially when you look at things like our benefits, a lot is already being done here for us employees. From our daily breakfast together at 10 a.m. to fresh fruit and bike leasing—there’s always more!
What’s your role within the company?
I started at Normec Hybeta as a team assistant in the lab. I moved into my current role as a result of an internal restructuring.
Today, I’m the team assistant for the Technical Hygiene and Construction division. In this role, I draft quotes and orders, handle correspondence with clients, and sometimes coordinate schedules between our technicians and clients. My other responsibilities include making hotel reservations and maintaining the ERP system and related data. For some time now, my department has also been offering training sessions for external participants on various topics throughout Germany; I’m responsible not only for planning these events but also for facilitating them.
That’s also what I particularly like about my job: the organizational aspect. I love organizing and planning—it’s one of my strengths, and I’m able to put it to good use here! It also allows me to support the team so well. The job is varied, and that’s what makes it so special. I have a very multifaceted range of responsibilities. Everyone on the team is different, so you have to adapt accordingly.
How long have you been with Normec Hybeta?
I started here in July 2019.
How do you like to spend your free time?
In my free time, it’s very important to me to strike a balance between time for myself and time with my friends. For example, I really enjoy going for walks with them or trying out new restaurants in Münster. When I have time to myself, I play various computer and video games. A while back, I discovered Korean TV series—and I was not only fascinated by the culture, but the language also immediately captivated me. This unexpected enthusiasm has lasted to this day and has even led me to start learning Korean a few months ago. One of my biggest dreams is to take a vacation in South Korea someday. This year, I’ve finally made it happen: I’m going on a vacation for which I’ve already put together a long list of activities! *laughs*
So, in addition to Russian (my native language), German, and English, I’ll now be able to try out my fourth language right there in South Korea and, of course, put theory into practice—I’m excited to see how it goes!
What else is there to know about you?
What’s there to know about me? I think I can proudly say that I have a very positive outlook on life. There are moments that show you the less pleasant sides of life, but in those moments it’s all the more important not to give up, but to look for a solution and keep going. This attitude helps me in both my personal and professional life.
To keep reminding myself of what I’ve read in various books, I’ve taken the following to heart: Life comes as it comes—we should remind ourselves every day not to always look only to the past or the future, as we can quickly get lost in memories or overplanning. Take each day as it comes and enjoy a little more the fact that you’re doing well today and can do whatever you want.
