In this brief study conducted in collaboration with the University Hospital of Münster, aerosol levels were examined under various ventilation conditions. The study found that filter-based air purifiers can significantly reduce particle concentrations. Accordingly, ventilation intervals could be extended—even with the same aerosol concentrations—particularly during the winter months. However, it is not advisable to forego ventilation altogether. Air purifiers should primarily be viewed as a supplement to normal ventilation, as the lowest aerosol concentrations in the test were achieved specifically through the combination of ventilation and air purifiers.
