REGISTRATION AND INSURANCE: NEW MANDATORY OBLIGATIONS
According to the latest regulations, every e-scooter must be equipped with a numbered, laminated identification tag (technically a non-removable ID mark) similar to those used for mopeds. This will allow authorities to immediately identify the owner in the event of traffic violations or accidents. At the same time, third-party liability insurance (RC) becomes mandatory. These measures aim to increase user accountability while ensuring that any damage to people or property can be compensated through standard legal channels, resolving the regulatory uncertainty of recent years.

Beyond bureaucratic requirements, a crucial and often underestimated aspect is the vehicle’s structural integrity. A safe e-scooter must pass rigorous conformity tests that verify frame strength, braking efficiency, and light visibility. Operating an uncertified vehicle means risking sudden mechanical failure, especially on uneven road surfaces or during emergency braking. The CE marking is more than just a label; it is a guarantee that the manufacturer has complied with European safety standards.
CERTIFIED BATTERIES: THE HEART OF SAFETY
A fundamental chapter is dedicated to batteries. Using certified power cells is the only real barrier against the risk of fire or explosions caused by overheating or short circuits (thermal runaway). Low-quality lithium batteries lacking reliable Battery Management Systems (BMS) represent a danger not only while riding but also during home charging. Choosing products with cells that are certified and tested according to international standards ensures a longer lifespan for the vehicle and, above all, the safety of the user and their surroundings.
