We organized the first major regulatory FAQ specifically to answer these questions.

For nearly two hours, our regulatory affairs expert Jérôme Schmitt answered participants’ questions live.

And there was no shortage of questions.

Over 2 hours of practical regulatory questions

This webinar wasn’t a traditional conference.

The concept was simple: to answer real-world questions from the field.

For example:

  • At what point will a radiation protection expert be required?
  • Will internal radiation protection coordinators ( CRPs) need to transition to this role?
  • Can a PCR manage radon without training in unsealed sources?
  • When should an initial verification be repeated?
  • Is it really necessary to establish a buffer zone in the operating room?
  • How should radioactive waste from patients who have received injections be managed?
  • Can trainees enter the controlled area?

These are highly practical topics that directly concern:

  • healthcare facilities
  • imaging departments
  • nuclear medicine departments
  • CRPs / radiation protection advisors
  • quality and safety managers

Regulations are changing… but not always as we might think

One of the key takeaways from the webinar is this: many practices are based on interpretations… not on regulatory requirements.

Some examples discussed during the session:

  • The concept ofa radiation protection expert will not apply until 2028.
  • In-house radiation protection committees will likely not be subject to this requirement.
  • Training on unsealed sources is not currently required to manage the care of patients who have received injections.
  • Certain practices regarding peripheral areas vary widely from one facility to another.

In other words: it is essential to distinguish between regulations, recommendations, and established practices.
